7 Steps to Solve Any Computer Problem
After using a computer for any amount of time, you are bound to run into various problems. Blue screens, restarts, lock-ups, freezing, pop-ups, beeps, fan noises, grinding, blinking lights, and many, many more. However, regardless of the problem you may have, here is a list that will have your problems resolved every single time. If you do not personally know somebody who can help you, still remember this list as it will be extremely helpful when you are trying to have your computer problems fixed.

7 Steps To Solve Any Computer Problem

Step 1: Remember exactly what you were doing

This is extremely helpful. We also listed this in our post about the 3 Steps to Fix Computer Errors, but we will list it again. For most problems, there are certain times and instances when they occur. Some issues happen randomly, but most problems occur because of something that was done on the computer previous to getting the error. Make sure you remember what you were doing — write it down if you have to.

Step 2: Be prepared to answer questions

Whether it’s your friend who is helping you or the computer guy at Best Buy, be prepared to answer questions. If somebody is good at troubleshooting your issues, they will make sure they know everything they can before they go to work (unless it is a simple fix).

Step 3: Do not feel insulted

Do not let questions that somebody asks you insult you. They are simply trying to gather information about the problem to better assist you. Since there is such a wide array of knowledge with technology, it is hard to gauge where people are, so answer the questions honestly and remember they are trying to help.

Step 4: Do not act like a know-it-all

While you may be a more advanced user, if you are going to somebody for help, do not act like you know everything. If you did, you wouldn’t need their help, would you?

Step 5: Run a registry scan

There are plenty of free registry scans out there and they are extremely effective. They will pick up errors and scan them manually, as well as continuing to monitor your computer long afterwards. NOTE: It does not take an advanced user to run this scan. Anybody can do it!

Step 6: Run a virus scan

Like registry scanners, virus scanners are very effective as well. Also similar to registry scans, there is an abundance of free virus scan software out there for self use.

Step 7: Preventative maintenance

Keeping a registry scan and/or virus scan running on your computer can be very effective at preventing issues before they occur. Also, properly deleting old files and doing general maintenance on your computer (cleaning, upgrades, properly uninstalling programs, etc) is a great way to decrease the chances that you ever have computer problems!

If you can properly follow these steps you should have no problem in resolving (or preventing) any computer problem you may come across.
